Pom Pom Magnets

Dec 8, 2012

Pom pom magnets are simple to make.  I gathered a bunch of colorful craft pom poms.

I cut a small rectangular strip of flexible magnetic tape and hot glued it to the pom pom.

I made twelve pom pom magnets for each of the following colors: white, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue and green.

An old baking sheet makes an amazing canvas for the magnetic pom poms.

My daughter sorted the pom poms by color.

She asked me to make her a flower.

We made pattern strips.

My daughter loves to create abstract designs.  Each time she removes a pom pom magnet from the baking sheet and places one on the tray, she is developing her fine motor skills.

We played a game where I made a letter out of the pom pom magnets and Sophia guessed the letter.  She enjoyed tracing the soft fluffy letters.

These pom pom magnets are so versatile and tactile.  My daughter can play with them in an infinite number of ways.
